傳統日本的塌塌米屋(Traditional Japanese Tatami House)-Temple Inn and Old House

I am glad to tell you my favourite part of Japan--Tatami House. I have been to 2 houses, one was a hostel, one was fd's old house.

1. Hostel:

A.Introduction:

We booked the hostel called 'Temple Inn", it was reused from a real temple into a hostel. The front door was exactly a temple, inside also was a Buddhist and altar. There were few rooms, maybe 5 rooms(I am not sure). Each room was very big, could stay 2 person. There were 2 rooms that were very closed to the altar, you may feel the solemn. And even you could stay in the altar for meditation overnight, no one will disturb you. I just saw one staff there, she showed us kitchen, bathroom, toilet, living room, private room, after she stayed in staff room. We are free to walk around to explore the temple.

B. A special tunnel under altar:

It had a special underground tunnel, a short one under the altar, it was dark. The tunnel was for testing your spirit. The staff said there was a key in the tunnel, you walked through the tunnel, couldnt see anything as well, you need to find the key in the darkness. If you find the key, your spirit will be quite closed to the Buddhist heaven, which means you could understand Buddhist, your heart is closed to her, and probably, you could join the Buddhish after dead. It was interesting, isnt it?

Therefore, 3 friends and I went into the altar and gave a shot! The staff gave us an hint, we need to keep hands to touch the wells in the middle level. That's it, but I wonder, a tall person and a short person, their middle level were different. But whatever, less hint would be more fun!! And then, only one of us got the key. It was funny that, we didnt know that was a key, why? Because staff didnt mention the shape of the key, and when we saw it, it was totally not a key!! Therefore, when a friend found it, we just curious, why there was a lock on one side of the wall. Yes, the key was a lock. We thought, we didnt find a key but a lock, so we kept searching the key for the lock. Finally, another friend read the instruction board outside the tunnel and then came up the idea: The Key was the Lock. I guess this was Zen spirit, had the wisdom inside. You could be trick from the outlook, therefore you would never find what you want?That's why ordinary people couldnt understand Buddhist and get into heaven.What would you think about this trick?
